Bishops and priests forgive sins.

“The Church, who through the bishop and his priests forgives sins in the name of Jesus Christ and determines the manner of satisfaction, also prays for the sinner and does penance with him.” (1448).

“For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus” (1 Timothy 2:5, bold mine). Mediator refers to the salvation only Jesus provides. Mediator means “go-between”. Christians don’t go through Mary, but through Jesus.

Further, Jesus was not a natural, literal door (John10:9,l all bold mine), literal light (John 8:12), literal vine (John 15:1), or literal bread (John 6:35).
